With the wind howling and the cold pressing in, the Carbon Lady Dinos made short work of the visiting North Sevier Wolves Thursday afternoon, beating the 2A squad, 12-2, in five innings.

The Lady Dinos scored in every inning against the 2A Central team. The win marked the fourth straight game in which a Dino hit a home run. It also was Carbon’s fourth straight win.

Cali Fossat continued her hot streak, going 1-2 with a solo home run. She has eight home runs on the season, good for third place in the state of Utah among all classifications. Lyndsey Madrigal knocked in three runs, bashing two doubles and a single. Leadoff hitter Kelsey Sorenson also went 3-3 in the game with three singles and an RBI. Dekota Kraushaar added three more hits and an RBI as well.

Kraushaar also went the distance in the circle, striking out six batters in five innings while allowing just two earned runs.

Carbon was in control of the game from the beginning to the end, scoring in every inning, highlighted by a six-run fourth inning that really broke the game wide open.

Carbon (12-3, 4-1 Region 14) will host American Leadership Academy (6-6, 1-3 Region 14) on Tuesday. The Lady Dinos beat the Eagles 17-2 back on March 13. Carbon will then host Emery on Thursday under the lights at 7 p.m. Both games will be played at the Carbon County Fairgrounds.
