Carbon, Emery, Pinnacle and 50+ other track and field teams competed in the 2019 Mr. Mac/BYU Invitational over the weekend. The competition comprised schools from the 1A-3A classifications. There was a separate meet happening at the same time for 4A-6A schools that had over 60 teams as well.

Carbon

Jared Spendlove reached the podium with a third place finish in the 800 meters while Ryker Childs finished sixth in 110 meter hurdles. Carbon’s relays also found success. Marianna Molinar took fourth in javelin as Mekenna Blanc grabbed a pair of points with her seventh place finish in the 800 meter.

“The majority of the team had personal or season bests. I couldn’t be any more pleased; I’m ecstatic,” said head coach Jimmy Jeweks. “Now, we have to get ready for region.”

Carbon took 13th overall with 21 points in the boys’ division as the Lady Dinos finished in 16th with 16 points.

Juab will host the region meet on Wednesday and Thursday.
