The San Rafael Middle School (SRMS) gym was the place to be on Tuesday evening as it played host to the 2025 Mini, Little and Junior Miss Emery Pageant.
The pageant was kicked off with Carly Young singing the National Anthem before a prayer was said. Following, the contestants were introduced and given the opportunity to show off their unique personalities. This year’s Mini Miss Emery contestants were Tatynn Cosby, Tylee Marshall and Brielle Hardman. The 2025 Little Miss Emery contestants were Erica Richards, Elsie Bagley, Saylor Huntington, Grecia Ewell, Bostyn Labrum and Ryan Truman.
The contestants for this year’s Junior Miss Emery were RaeLee Oveson, Makenzi Cheshire, Sawyer Truman and Mckenzie Jewkes. Special performances were up next, done by 2024’s Junior Miss Emery Hallee Hurdsman, Little Miss Emery Aspyn Hinkins and Mini Miss Emery Britlee Bishop.
The contestants were then able to show off their strengths in the talent competition, which varied from many dance numbers, to a bow and arrow show and a singing act. The 2024 Littles had another special performance before the contestants of this year were welcomed back out for the evening gown competition.
This rounded out the performance portion of the evening, meaning the judges had to turn in their votes. This year’s judges were Cindy Hilliam, who is new to the pageant world but excited to serve, Ivy Beecher, the current Miss Utah Teen Volunteer, and Kim Hunsaker, who has choreographed opening numbers and helped with the Miss Santaquin Pageant for five years.
Before this year’s winners were crowned, a farewell walk was hosted for Bishop, Hinkins and Hurdsman. Finally, it was time to announce the 2025 royalty.
The awards began with superlatives. People’s choice went to Hardman, Bagley and Sawyer Truman. The golden ticket, which was the award for most tickets sold, went to Huntington. The personality award went to Cosby and Bagley, while the overall talent was awarded to Cosby and Huntington. The spirit of Miss Emery was also Huntington.
This year’s 2025 Mini Miss Emery County was crowned as Tatynn Cosby. She was joined by Saylor Huntington as the 2025 Little Miss Emery County before 2025’s Junior Miss Emery County was announced as Makenzi Cheshire.
