The Carbon Dinos welcomed the 4A Ogden Tigers to Price Friday night before 3A North action begins on Friday against Union. The Tigers did just enough for the 28-19 win.

Quarterback Noah Jones got the Dinos out to the early 7-0 lead as he dropped back to pass but tucked the ball and ran from eight yards out for the TD at the 3:28 mark of the first quarter.

Ogden responded with 14 straight points before Nate Olson scored the first of his two touchdowns of the game on a one-yard scamper with just under three minutes to play in the half to cut the Tiger lead to just one, 14-13.

Again Ogden responded, scoring on its next offensive possession on a long TD pass and catch to extend its lead.

Olson then powered the Dinos on their next drive, scoring again from a yard out, capping off a drive that went 70 yards in under two minutes to enter halftime down two, 21-19.

Two second half turnovers by the Dinos, one on fourth and inches at the goal line and another on an interception on a halfback pass, thwarted any attempts by Carbon to secure its first win of the season.

Carbon (0-4, 0-0 3A North) will host Union (2-2, 0-0 3A North) in each teams’ region opener on Friday. Union has beaten Uintah and North Sanpete on the season, with losses against Summit Academy and Mountain View.
