The next AARP Smart Driver Class hosted by the Carbon County Senior Center will take place Thursday, July 9 from 1-5 p.m. at the center.
All senior citizens ages 55 and older are eligible for a discount on their auto insurance upon completion of the course. The four-hour course will provide information related to driver safety and the aging process: vision, hearing, reaction time and agility. Also included in the class: recent changes in traffic laws, automobile features deigned for safer driving and changes in the roads and highways. There are many new videos related to driver safety prepared by AARP with the help of MIT, the Society of Occupation Therapists and other professional organizations that will enhance the class.
Cost of the course is $15 for AARP members and $20 for others. To register for the class, contact the senior center at (435) 636-3202.
