Two Price City residents were involved in an ATV accident Thursday that required Life Flight to land in a rugged area and transport the victims to Castle View Hospital.

Bill and LaRue Bate were riding a side-by-side ATV when it rolled off a Mathis Canyon trail.

Carbon County Search and Rescue personnel responded to distress calls and went out on four-wheelers to look for the couple.

Officials arranged for Life Flight to rush to the area, and the helicopter’s pilot was able to land on the trail and recover the victims.

Both victims were in stable condition.

The couple expressed their gratitude for all who helped in the rescue and cited “many miracles” throughout the rescue attempt.
