Price City Police Department Press Release

On Monday, Carbon School District Security and Price Police became aware of a potential online threat to Carbon High School. The threat came in the form of a Snapchat message that was being circulated by local Facebook users. The message was reported to the school by an alert parent.

After a thorough investigation, school district security and Price Police were able to determine that the message was copied and circulated from an incident that occurred in Clovis, New Mexico on Thursday, April 5. In that incident, an individual was identified and arrested by Clovis Police Department.

The message made reference to CHS, (Clovis High School), which coincidentally bears the same
initials as Carbon High School.

There was never a threat or danger to Carbon County students.

Price Police and Carbon School District vigorously investigate and prosecute all perceived threats to local schools.
