The Manti La-Sal National Forest was pained to share information on a recent vandalism act that took place close to home.

An individual, or group of individuals, made the choice to deface and dismantle parts of the Energy Loop interpretive panels that are along the bi-way. It is reported that this vandalism took place somewhere between July 1 and 2.

The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) also shared the information on the vandalism, remarking that seeing the senseless destruction is extremely frustrating. The CCSO continued by stating that the US Forest, Utah state agencies and Carbon and Emery counties all work diligently to ensure that the Castle Country area is a great place to enjoy time off as well as educate about the history of the land.

The office is urging any that have information regarding those that are responsible for this incident to contact the local Manti La-Sal National Forest Office at (435) 636-3525.
