The Emery Spartans will gear up for a potential playoff spot in the upcoming 2A softball tournament after a 10-3 win over the North Sevier Wolves on Wednesday afternoon.

Ashton Bell connected on her state-leading 13th home run of the season in the game. She also singled and had three RBIs. Kambrie Hinkins doubled twice and Carlie Robinson and Jacie Huntington each smashed a double. Robinson also had three singles and two RBIs. Huntington equaled Bell’s RBI total with three.

Bell also picked up her third win of year.

Emery poured it on late in the game, scoring three runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings. The Lady Spartans had 11 hits in the game while committing no errors in the field.

Emery (8-17, 3-5 Region 15, fourth place) will take on either Region 14’s Rockwell or Rowland Hall in a play-in game at a later date to see which team will earn a trip to the 2A playoffs that begin May 7. Before that game, the Lady Spartans will host Duchesne on Tuesday.
