BLM Press Release

PRICE, Utah–The BLM Price Field Office is seeking public comment on an Environmental Assessment analyzing the proposed permit renewal for a radio repeater located in the Desolation Wilderness Study Area. The 15-day public comment period will open Sept. 26 and extend through Oct. 10, 2018.

The repeater unit was initially installed in 2014 during an extremely busy fire season.  The repeater provides two-way radio communication for field personnel. “The repeater supports the safety for our wildland fire, aviation, law enforcement, and natural resources program staff,” said Green River District Manager Gary Torres.  The unit can be removed should it be deemed necessary.

The Environmental Assessment can be viewed on the BLM’s ePlanning project page at: https://go.usa.gov/xPDR3.  The public is encouraged to submit comments online via the ePlanning project page by clicking the “Documents” tab, and then clicking the “Comment on Document” button.  Comments can be submitted by email to blm_ut_pr_comments@blm.gov or by mail to BLM-Price Field Office, Attn:  Radio Repeater, 125 South 600 West, Price, UT 84501.  Comments submitted by mail must be postmarked by Oct. 10, 2018.
