During June’s Green River City Council meeting, 2020 budget adjustments were discussed.

The adjustments included raises for a number of city employees as well as a 3% cost of living raise. A cost of living raise has not happened in five years, it was explained. The wage of being on the city council was also increased from $20 to $200.

Community support grants and donations from the city included:
– $250 to Parent Teacher Student Association
– $250 to the Special Olympics
– $500 to PACT
– $500 to Green River Medical Center
– $500 to the MECCA Bike Club
– $5,000 to Emery County for the bonus for hiring the new sheriff’s office deputy
– $4,200 to the Pirates Den coalition (funds were generated by the beer tax, which must be used for these type of programs)

The Green River City Council will meet again on July 9.
