Carbon Cat Rescue is an organization that was formed in Carbon County due to the founder, Nisha Anderson, noticing how many stray and feral cats are in the area.

From there, the decision was made to open a rescue and take action by participating in the Trap, Neuter and Release (TNR) program and assist with the overflowing population of cats. Carbon Cat Rescue’s mission is to provide a safe, clean environment for stray and abandoned cats until they find their loving and forever home.

Any veterinarian care that a cat needs that comes to the rescue is provided to them. All kittens and grown cats that come to the rescue are placed in foster homes until they find forever owners. When adopted, they come with all up-to-date vaccinations, are spayed and neutered, and have a microchip.

Those that wish to assist with the rescue may volunteer, donate or foster. PayPal is the best place for donations at this time, or a donation can be made at the Animal Hospital, where the rescue cats are taken for services. Anderson stated that the hospital simply needs to be informed that the donation is for Carbon Cat Rescue. To volunteer or foster, contact Anderson by searching Carbon Cat Rescue on Facebook. To donate to PayPal, click here.

Those that wish to foster must fill out an application and wait for approval from the rescue, who will contact those interested following application reviews. The rescue is still in the process of becoming a non-profit organization and donations assist them in reaching that goal. Anderson hopes the organization will become a non-profit within the next month.
