In record-breaking fashion, the Dinos led an impressive Carbon Christmas event again this year. Students, faculty and staff came together to raise a total of $33,427.39 for those in need.

This year’s funds were gathered through traditional Carbon Christmas events, including odd jobs, a benefit night hosted at the school and singing carols at local stores. New this year was a Zumbathon, a bunco benefit night and a men’s beauty pageant.

“Thank you Carbon High students, faculty and staff,” said Daphne Stockdale, one of Carbon High’s student government advisors. “They have worked their guts out this last month and they have made a difference. I am so proud of them and their determination.”

The funds raised through the annual event will help provide Christmas presents to those in need this holiday season. A portion of the proceeds will also assist downtrodden families pay bills while more will go toward scholarship funds.

“They have worked countless hours raising money,” said Troy Chilcott, another student government adviser at Carbon High. “So, I just want to say thank you student government and all the faculty and students of Carbon High.”
