CARBON DISTRICT NOTICE OF INTENT TO DESTROY SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

In accordance with the state and federal regulations implementing the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), this is to inform of intent to destroy personally identifiable information related to special education services maintained in Carbon County School special education records for students born 1999-2000, or graduated, completed or aged out in 2017 or 2018.

The state only requires records be maintained for three (3) years from the date the child graduates, leaves the district or no longer receives special education and related services.

If you wish to obtain this information for your personal records, you need to contact us at 435-613-3159 before July 31, 2024; otherwise, the information will be destroyed after July 31st 2024. Please note that the student will have to be the one to request the records unless the parent has guardianship.

Please be advised that the records may be needed by the student or the parent for private, State, or Federal programs such as disability, social security benefits or other purposes.
