Carbon, Emery and Pinnacle Run in Sanpete Classic

The Carbon girls placed fourth out of 13 teams at the 2015 Sanpete Classic XC Invitational at Skyline Mountain Resort Golf Course in Fairview. Carbon, Emery and Pinnacle high schools all took part in the meet.

Emery boys finished in seventh and Carbon boys took 12th out of 17 total boys teams.

The overall top finisher for the Carbon girls’ team was Emily Broadbear, who came in with a time of 20:05.2. Emery’s Erin Hurst came in just in front of Broadbear in 12th place overall.

Other finishes from the girls’ side: Carbon – Sadie Crompton (21), Zaharah Rossi (27), Emma Haddock (38), Sarah Ohlwiler (45), Jordyn Oman (50) and Nikki Kulow (87). Emery – Tarryn Parkins (65). Pinnacle – Savana Dart (74) and Misty Bingham (82). Panthers Brielle Motte, Kaeley Taylor, Mikael Vigil finished in 92, 93, and 94, respectively.

Ty Funk, from Emery, was the top local finisher with a time of 17:34.5, good for 27th place. Drew Jones finished first for Carbon, coming in 43rd. Pinnacle’s Huntter Sherman placed first for Pinnacle and 99th overall.

Other finishes from the boys’: Carbon  – Paul Bryner (62), Anthony Jones (64), Kaden Kranendonk (80), Logan Engar (94) and Will Laursen (96). Emery –  Chase Christiansen (29), McKay Meccariello (41), Tanyon Allred (54), McKoy Christiansen (68), Daryl Guymon (78) and Wyatt Cox (88). Pinnacle – Bodie Barker (103), Valentin Acosta (116), Dalton Bradley (121), Damon Neath (122), Remington Motte (124) and Abigael Acosta (125).

Carbon will next compete at Canyon View High School on Oct. 13 for the region title. Emery will have one more tune up before its region meet on Wednesday at North Sevier. Pinnacle will travel to Orem on Wednesday to take part in the 2015 Titan XC Meet.
