The Carbon High Girl’s cross country team captured the Region 12 title Tuesday at the Carbon Country Club.
Carbon’s Reagan Powell earned the personal Region 12 championship with a new personal best time of 18:22, which was also believed to be a course record.
Rachel Goodrich finished second, Susannah Owhiller finished fifth as a freshman, and Diana Olsen finished 10th.
Carbon High track coach Jim Jewkes said, “I think this is the first time that girls cross country has ever won the region.”
Carbon’s boys finished fourth and qualified for State.
Standouts were Garrett Marsing with a second-place finish and Justin Hepworth who finished seventh.
