Carbon Recreation’s Upcoming Events

Moving to their new location in the old Price Senior Citizen’s Center hasn’t slowed down Carbon County Recreation. In fact, they have activities coming up for all age groups. Jimmy Jewkes, host of ETV Sports Talk, toured their new offices today and spoke with Frank Ori and Director Steve Christensen. Look for that on the newest episode ETV Sports Talk airing Friday evening. Following is a list of upcoming events:

Youth Volleyball
Carbon County Recreation is currently taking registrations for their youth instructional volleyball league.В  The registration deadline is March 8th and the cost is just 28 dollars.В  Play will be on Monday and Wednesday evenings.В  Call Carbon County Recreation at 636-3702 for more information.В 

Youth Soccor Leagues
Carbon County Recreation is currently taking registrations for their youth soccer leagues.В  The registration deadline is March 8th and the cost is just 20 dollars or 32 with a jersey.В  Play will be on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings for k through 6th grades and Monday and Wednesday evenings for 7th and up.В  Call Carbon County Recreation at 636-3702 for more information.В 

Umpire Clinic
Carbon Rec. will host a free umpire clinic on March 9 at 5pm at the Recreation office.В  This training is recommended for anyone who is interested in umpiring youth baseball this season.В  Training will focus on the rules of the game, mechanics and demeanor of youth officials in youth and recreation sports.В  For more information or to register call Carbon Rec. at 636-3702.

Scorekeeping Clinic
Carbon Rec. will have a free baseball and softball scorekeeping clinic March 10 at 5pm at the Recreation office.В  This class will go as in depth into baseball statistics as participants want it too.В  Learn how to figure batting averages, earned run averages and on base percentage.В В  For more information or to register call Carbon Rec. at 636-3702.

Snowshoe Outing
Join Carbon Rec. for a Snowshoe outing on March 12.В  The fee is just $20 per person which includes use of snowshoes and transportation.В  There is limited enrollment for this outing.В В  For more information call Carbon Rec. at 636-3702.

Kayak Lessons
Do you want to learn to roll a kayak?В  Carbon Rec. is offering beginning kayak lessons that start March 15.В  The session last four weeks and are on Tuesday evenings at the Desert Wave Pool.В  Instruction will be by Bo Christensen who is an ACA Certified Kayak Instructor.В  For more information call Carbon Rec. at 636-3702.В 

Women’s and Co-ed Volleyball
Carbon County Recreation will host a women’s and co-ed volleyball tournament March 25-26.  The fee is just $75 per team.  Women’s teams registered in the Carbon Rec. league can join for free but league rosters must be maintained.  For more information or to register call Carbon Rec. at 636-3702.
