Carbon Rodeo Team Hosts UHSRA Rodeo *Photo Gallery*

Friday evening at the Carbon County Fairgrounds, Carbon High rodeo team members welcomed contestants from throughout the state to their UHSRA rodeo for the 2018-19 season.

Kagen Rhodes placed in the top 10 for Carbon, earning sixth place in the rifle shoot and second in the trap shoot. Emery team members placing included Jessie McElprang, fourth in breakaway, and Cole Magnuson and his partner, who took sixth in team roping.

The junior high teams also competed with the high school in the shooting sports. Receiving honors in rifle shoot were Ryter Ekker, third, Kashley Rhodes, eighth, and Shalako Gunter, ninth.

On the following day, all contestants made the trip to Mt. Pleasant for another UHSRA rodeo. In breakaway, Jessica Fox was first with a time of 2.5 seconds and McElprang finished third with a time of 2.67. In the reining cow competition, Korby Christiansen captured eighth place. In the rifle shoot, Kagen Rhodes earned fifth. He also finished first in the trap shoot. Junior high finishers were Ekker, second, Gunter, eighth and Kashley Rhodes, 10th, in the rifle shoot.

Next weekend, the rodeo trail leads to Tooele for two days of competition.
