Carbon hosted the Delta Rabbits on Wednesday for a region match-up.

The Dinos stayed in the game behind Derek Hillam’s 32 points and were down only 36-30 at half. Carbon did a good job of limiting Delta’s best shooter, Derek Smith, in the first half but Jager Springer went off in the half and scored 24 of his 32 points. He shot 11-12 on the night, a 92% field goal percentage. Smith found his groove in the last half and ended the game with 32 points as well.

The third quarter has been the Dinos’ Achilles’ heel for most of the year and it came back to haunt them again. They were outscored 30-12 to open up the second half and never could come back. Delta handed Carbon another loss, 77-61.

The Dinos (1-8, 0-3 Region 14) will travel to Cedar City to take on the 4A Canyon View Falcons (2-5, 0-0 Region 9) on Dec. 27 for their last game of 2018.
