Carbon’s Chip on Their Shoulder

Carbon went to several camps this past summer and their coaching staff was impressed with how quickly they progressed. Many of the juniors and sophomores on the team exceeded the staff’s expectations.

“Our group of seniors really started to click toward the end of summer and when the bench would come in, they would not miss a beat,” head coach Kyle Wilson said.

The Dinos hope to keep the momentum they gained from the summer as they enter their winter season. They will feature two returning starters and two more players in the starting lineup that received considerable amount of playing time last year. They have five total seniors this year.

“Our group of seniors has a chip on its shoulder and want to prove something,” Wilson explained. They will get their chance as the next few months unfold.

Their region is tough; Delta is well coached. Providence Hall has a decent team that includes a 6’5” athlete. The Dinos know they need to bring their ‘A’ game every night.

“Any given night someone can shoot the lights out and give any other team a run,” Wilson said. “I’m excited for this year. We have a real opportunity to make a run at the state tournament.”
