The Castle Dale City Days celebration was all about the kids on Friday as a variety of activities were hosted for local youth.

The festivities kicked off at 3 p.m. with games, including a sandbox safari, fish pond, cake walk and duck pond. Children and their families were then invited to fuel up with the popular $2 BBQ.

Once bellies were filled, children gathered for the celebration’s annual kids’ rodeo. Events included a chicken chase, pig chase, stick horse races and a cash cow. At the end of the day, 24 chickens and four pigs went home with local children as prizes for winning the chases. Prizes were also given during the stick horse races with $20 going to the winner and $20 going to the best dressed competitor.

Teenagers were then invited to compete in the cash cow event, rounding out the day.
