Castle Dale To Host Annual Desertview Pro Rodeo

The annual Desertview Pro Rodeo will return to the Castle Dale Arena July 25-27. This year’s event will provide many opportunities for rodeo fans to participate.

Opening night is sponsor appreciation night and National Finals Rodeo tickets will be given away. The following night is Price Auto Group night and rodeo goers will have the chance to win $500. The final night is tough enough to wear pink and a rifle and bow will be given away.

Each night prior to the rodeo the public is invited to participate in wild cow milking, mutton busting and hide race at 6 p.m. To enter any of these events, contact Emery County Recreation Office at 435-381-2108.

The wild cow milking contest is open to eight teams of two Thursday and Friday evenings and 10 teams of two on Saturday. The entry fee is $125 per person or $250 per team.

Mutton busting is open to kids of all ages, eight children per night while the hide race is open to 10 teams with a $75 entry fee. Prize money for each event depends upon entry fees collected per night. Registration deadline is July 23.

Tickets to rodeo will be sold in advance at the Emery County Recreation Office, Desertview Federal Credit Union, Emery Telcom and IFA in Price. Admission is discounted prior to the event. Prices are as follows:

Thursday, July 25 – $10 adult in advance, $12 at the gate, children (4-12) $7.

Friday, July 26 – $11 adult in advance, $13 at the gate, children (4-12) $7.

Saturday, July 27 – $12 adult in advance, $14 at the gate, children (4-12) $7.

Three day passes will also be available at $30 adult, $15 child.
