The Castle Country Century got an early start on Saturday morning as riders lined up at the starting line to take part in the annual race.

The morning began at Madsen Bay in Scofield State Park where racers lined up for an out-and-back style race..

Due to the fire in Huntington Canyon, the ride was diverted from its usual route and instead took racers to Cleveland Lake. After making it to the lake, riders turned around and began the trek back to Scofield.

“Thanks for the wonderful ride,” one racer shared after the event. “The roads were great, so little traffic, and the support was fantastic.”

Proceeds from the event will benefit medical support programs in the community.
