PRICE – Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and longtime friend, Emma Cherie Nyman Beacco Etzel, 88, passed away peacefully February 27, 2020 in the comforts of her home.

She was born February 10, 1932 in Helper, Utah to Fritz and Edith Kesler Nyman.  Cherie was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and proud to be a coal miner’s/boss’ daughter.  Cherie graduated from Wasatch Academy and Carbon College.  In 1954, she married John Beacco and they had two children, Fritz and Kim Beacco; later divorced.  On February 26, 1977, she married Robert H. Etzel in Price, Utah.

Cherie was a Past President of the Price Ladies of Elks and a Past Secretary for the State Ladies of Elks.  She was a member of the Soroptimist Intl., The American Cancer Society, leader for the Girl Scouts of America and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Cherie enjoyed tending to her flower garden and feeding the quail and deer in her backyard. She spent countless hours watering, talking to her plants and enjoying the beauty and privacy of her yard.  Cherie enjoyed crafts, handiwork, needlepoint, bowling, fly fishing and her weekly lunch dates with the girls.

Her lifeline was her cell phone and without it, she was lost. She looked forward to her daily visits and phone calls (except for the mortuary phone ringing, day and night).  Mom was a sweet spirit who was always concerned about the well-being of others, even before her own.  Her generosity, love and patience will never be forgotten.

Cherie is survived by her husband, Robert Etzel, Price; children, Kim Beacco Miller, Price; Fritz (Connie) Beacco, Taylorsville, Henry (Susan) Etzel, Wellington, Frankie (Vic) Sacco, Bobby (Annette) Etzel, both of Price; 10 grandchildren, Nicole Cherie Nelson (Derick Stevenson), Michael John (Samantha) Nelson, Kylie Beacco (Cody Lockling), Heston Beacco (Sarah Johnson), Dalton Harrison (Mallory Mitamura), Nicole (Travis) Cottam, Rachele (Travis) Donathan, Michael Etzel, Robbi Etzel (Jessica Allred) and Kirsten Etzel; seven great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Colin, Jayden, Kaden, Braxton, Madisen and Abbie; and her beloved cat, Tess.

Preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Lucile (Silas) Ross and Lorna (John) Krissman.
