The Carbon High School basketball team is looking forward to an exciting, successful 2011-2012 campaign.

Head Coach Jeff Cisneros will be taking the reigns full-time for the first time in his high school coaching career, and all the returning and new players are stoked to see how the season plays out.

“I think our season will be very successful this year,” said Christopher White.

Tryouts were completed Nov. 8, and the team has been working hard at practice to get ready for the season opener Dec. 1 in Grand Junction.

“I think we are going to be really tough this season with all of our returning seniors,” Principal Bruce Bean said. “It’s sure to be a great and exciting season.”

Students and supporters hope school spirit fills the stands with screams and chants like it did during football season.

“I will definitely be going to most of the home games [because] it’s such a fun sport to watch and get into,” said student Kenzie Kelley. “I wouldn’t miss it. School spirit is definitely going to be just as wild as it has been. Our school supports our players with everything.”

Congratulations to Bryce Blackburn, Dakota Cisneros, Nick Haycock, Jordan Blanc, Taje Richardson, Derek Young, Michael Peczuh, Wyatt Hansen, Julian Tamllos, Garrett Hunt, Dillon Manzanares, Clay finkbiner, Seth Tryon, Tanner Gagnon, Daulton Nielson, Derek Weston, Christopher White, Blake Bean, Zac Hathaway, Garrett Marsing, Jarrod Lessar, Andrew Gagnon, Dakota Lantz, Kaiden Lewis, and Steven Zamatakis for making the team.
