Cleveland Elementary’s Fourth and Fifth Graders Compete in Annual Spelling Bee

A total of 14 students participated in Cleveland Elementary’s fourth and fifth grade spelling bee on Thursday afternoon.

Journie Huntington took first place after spelling the word “axis” during her spell off with competitor Blake Sitterud. Sitterud finished off the bee in second placed, followed by Emma Grimm in third.

Huntington will represent the school as the fourth grade representative at the district spelling bee on Feb. 8. She will be accompanied by Sitterud, who will represent the school as the fifth grade representative.
