Press Release

On Sept. 7 at 1:30 p.m., Alex Vajda and Ron Crotaeu will be running a test demonstration of the Community Alert Warning System.

This unit is being designed to provide emergency alerting of the community of an impending or actual emergency. This system is in its final prototype phase, before going into final production to work out any possible issues that may be present.

This test/demonstration will be done in East Carbon. The test will include an audible air raid type siren sound along with audio announcements. Because the siren sound can be heard much further than the voice communications can be understood, the entire test will be broadcast over an FM broadcast on 104.5 MHZ. Three tests will be run over a period of 15 minutes.

Some pretesting will be run on Sept. 5 by the old railroad building on the road to Range Creek to work out any last minute problems. Any comments or suggestions can be directed to Vajda at his email address asubav@yahoo.com.
