The ever-expanding monthly event deemed First Friday took place once more on Helper City’s Main Street on May 4. This particular date gave the event a unique opportunity to simultaneously celebrate two days in one: Star Wars Day, better known as “May the Fourth be With You” and Cinco de Mayo, which would officially take place the following day.

Those in attendance were able to enjoy festive and classic Cinco de Mayo dishes, don their favorite Star Wars gear and the like. Bruin Point Elementary School had a gallery stroll hosted in one of the Main Street galleries and Fierce MMA set up work out equipment and mats in the street, allowing youngsters to learn how to defend themselves and “use the force” with some Jedi training.

Bingo, live music, refreshments, sidewalks sales and more were also available for attendees enjoyment and perusal. The next First Friday event is slated to take place on June 1.
