On Monday evening, San Rafael and Canyon View middle schools joined with Emery High choir at the high school auditorium for an evening of Christmas music. The concert began with the combined sixth grade choirs singing “Away in A Manager,” “Christmas Day,” “Bethlehem Boy” and “Christmas… in About Three Minutes.” They were followed by the combined seventh grade from both schools performing “Alleluia Canon,” “ I Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda Been So Good This Year,” “Nativity Carol” and “The First Noel.”

Then, the middle school presentations continued with the mixed eighth grade choirs singing “Carol of the Start,” “A Caribbean Gloria,” “Christmas Joy” and “Let Heaven and Nature Sing.” The finale was the seventh and eighth grade choirs all together singing “All Around the World Tonight.”

The Emery High School choir then sang four numbers: “Bethlehem Spiritual,” “African Alleluia,” “Sleigh Bells” and “Where Will It Lead?” Student accompanists in the African lullaby were Jace Collard on the bass guitar, Brynne Urie on shakers, Brooklyn Potter playing the finger cymbals and Cory Eden on the bongo drum.

Mr. Bird’s favorite of the evening was a number that Kaydee Deto and Brooklyn Potter prepared independently as a surprise for him. They sang “Winter Lullaby.”
