The Helper City Council was visited in June by Lenora Callor with a request, which was to place a dedication plaque in the city to two special women.

This plaque was placed and highlighted during a ceremony that was hosted on Saturday afternoon. The plaque commemorates the hard work and determination of Neida Garcia and Lois Giordano, two women that diligently pursued the beautification of Helper City.

From their efforts, they inspired many other Helper citizens to join and work to beautify the area and make it better for residents and visitors alike.

The ceremony began with a Catholic prayer and blessing read in the pavilion at the park on Helper’s Main Street. Following, the plaque was presented to the crowd. The plaque, adorned with fine detailing, will have permanent residence in the Main Street park and will allow all to know of Giordano and Garcia and their pursuits for their city.
