Ashton Dieli netted the ball twice for Emery in its win over the Grand Red Devils on Tuesday, 2-1.
Both teams struggled to connect with the net in the first half, going into the break scoreless. Dieli came out strong for the Spartans in the second, connecting with the net twice.
The win puts Emery at 4-5 in region play and secures the team the fourth spot in Region 2A Central. The team will battle it out with the first seed from Region 2A West in the first round of the state championship on April 29.
Emery will wrap up region play at Gunnison on Friday.
