The new RPI system will even be used in drill this year. Each of the three routines, military, dance and character, will count for 20% of a team’s ranking and the remaining 40% will come from overall placements in competitions. “Every single competition matters,” said head coach Nicole Bennett. “I’m scared and excited to see it. I’ve been coaching for 13 years and this is totally different.”

The Dynamics will compete against every team in 3A before the regional and state competitions. Bennett continued, “We have an awesome team. We have 28 girls this year, so it is a lot.” Bennett said they are looking forward to their character dance, in which they will be matadors. “I’m excited going into the competitions. It will be fun.”

Bennett is also pleased with the growth of dance within both Carbon and Emery counties. “The dance community is getting bigger and better in the two counties because the studios are stepping up. So, it is exciting to see our little schools and what they are doing.” The goal is to continue to grow and become a force in the regional and state competitions.
