The Carbon Dinos mustered just two hits against 5A powerhouse Springville Tuesday afternoon at the USU Eastern field in Price, taking the 4-0 loss.

The game was originally supposed to take place in Springville, but the location was changed last week.

The Dinos used six pitchers in the game with Triton Abeyta taking the loss after giving up two runs on four hits. Nathan Richens also gave up two runs as well. Cody Lowe threw two scoreless innings while striking out three batters. Zac Bradley started the game on the mound, allowing just one hit.

“(I) wanted to get them all about 30 pitches,” head coach Jeff Cisneros said.

Lowe and Collin Lewis had the only hits in the game for the Dinos. Lowe’s was the only extra-base hit, a double. As a team, Carbon struck out 13 times.

Carbon (0-1, 0-0 Region 14) will travel to St. George this weekend to participate in the Pizza Hut Classic. The Dinos will play Dixie and Payson on Friday and Judge and an unnamed opponent on Saturday.
