The Carbon Dinos lost a tough home contest to the Uintah Utes Tuesday night 42-40, after leading until the final 2.5 seconds.

The Dinos led by as many 10 points during the game, but a three point shot by Jurey Beddes with just under three second remaining in the game completed the comeback for the Utes.

Coach Jeff Cisneros remarked at half time that it was shaping up to be a sloppy game on both sides.

“There has been more contact in the first half of this game then I saw most of the football season,” he said.

Turnovers doomed Carbon in the final half of the game and it was a turnover that allowed Uintah to have the ball in the final moments of the game.

Uintah outscored Carbon 19-9 in the fourth quarter. The Utes scored just 23 points in the other three quarters. Garrett Blanc was the only Dino in double figures with 13. He hit two three-pointers.

Carbon (1-7, 0-0 Region 12) will travel to Tooele (2-3, 0-0 Region 11) on Friday.
