Dinos Rebound After Loss With Extra-Inning Win Over 4A Foe

It took eight innings, but the Carbon Dinos slid by Salem Hills on Tuesday in Helper. The win came a day after 5A Provo beat the Dinos 9-0.

Carbon outhit Provo 7-6, but the Dinos committed six errors, left six runners on base and struck out seven times at the plate.

Against Provo, Nate Olson went 2-3. Zac Bradley nailed a double as well as did Cody Lowe. Adrien Sanchez took the loss on the mound as well.

Carbon rebounded Tuesday afternoon, taking a decisive victory over a tough 4A team in Salem Hills.

Tied at three going into the bottom of the eighth, Lowe singled to begin the inning. After a Jaxon Leonard walk, Collin Lewis bunted to get both runners to second and third. Salem Hills then intentionally walked Jadon Robertson to load the bases. Anthony Jones then drew a walk, scoring Lowe which won the game.

Lowe went 2-3 in the game, scoring two runs, including the winning run. Ty Anderson went 3-4 in the game with three singles and an RBI. Olson also chipped in another RBI as did Jones.

Robertson got the win on the mound after spelling starter Bradley who pitched six innings, allowing just one earned run on six hits. Robertson gave up just one hit in two innings while striking out three batters. Bradley registered six strikeouts in the game.

Carbon (7-5, 1-0 Region 14) will host cross-county rival Emery on Wednesday.
