The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources led a Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep sighting expedition near Green River on Saturday.

The group included approximately 12 vehicles that crept along the road searching for the animals.

Participants spotted four different groups of sheep and one, lone ram that walked within approximately 50-feet of the vehicles.

DWR officials said they heavily manage big horn sheep populations because of the low numbers compared to other wildlife groups.

The trip marked the second straight year the DWR has hosted the trip. Officials said they also host ram-sighting expeditions near East Carbon in the spring.
