ABAJO MOUNTAINS: (February 22) Conservation Officer Dennis Shumway reports that the ice is unsafe. Wait until the shoreline thaws before you fish the Abajo Mountains.

CARBON COUNTY COMMUNITY FISHING POND: (February 22) The pond is thawing, which is creating dangerous ice conditions. Please wait until ice-off before you fish the pond.

GIGLIOTTI POND: (February 22) Ice conditions are very dangerous. Wait until spring before you fish the pond.

HUNTINGTON GAME FARM POND: (February 22) The ice is unstable and unsafe. Please wait until spring before you fish the pond.

HUNTINGTON NORTH RESERVOIR: (March 08) The ice fishing season is over. According to state park personnel, ice off is imminent.

HUNTINGTON RESERVOIR: (March 08) Fishing pressure has been light, probably due to ice thickness and snow cover. One angler reported good fishing with a white or neon-colored jig tipped with a mealworm.

JOES VALLEY RESERVOIR: (March 08) As of March 7, Conservation Officer JD Abbott reported that the ice on the east side was solid., The ice on the west side, however, may be hazardous because of springs that weaken the ice unexpectedly. Seeley Cove can be especially dangerous for that reason. Use caution.

MILLSITE RESERVOIR & STATE PARK: (March 08) The shoreline has opened up, and the ice is receding quickly. Long casts are possible. Shoreline anglers have had good luck with tube jigs tipped with minnows, night crawlers or chub meat. Anglers are catching cutthroat trout up to 16 inches. Aquatics Biologist Calvin Black recommends baiting a hook with a night crawler, chub meat or PowerBait.

SCOFIELD RESERVOIR: (March 08) On March 7, Conservation Officer JD Abbott reported fair fishing. He recommends fishing in 5-15 feet of water with a tube jig or Kastmaster tipped with a meal worm or chub meat. Fishing has been best just off the bottom. On March 1, Conservation Officer Devin Christensen described fishing as slow to fair. The ice remains thick and solid. Christensen offered the same tackle recommendations as Officer Abbott.

STRAIGHT CANYON CREEK: (February 22) Tom Ogden fly fished the creek during the week, but was unable to get a strike or a bite. Fishing should improve this spring.
