After their narrow 1-0 win against Manti on Tuesday, the Spartans were hoping to continue their momentum in Moab as the Grand Red Devils hosted a matchup on Thursday.
The game was tied 0-0 at half, but it was the Red Devils that would prevail past Emery in the second half. Grand scored two goals while Emery pushed across one to fall 2-1.
Brock Winter connected on the lone goal for the Spartans.
The Spartans (3-4-2, 1-1 Region 15) will host two games this week. The first will be on Tuesday against San Juan with the second game on Thursday again South Sevier. Grand leads the region standings with a 3-0 record. The Spartans are tied with Manti in second at 1-1 and hold the tie breaker over the Templars.
