The Emery Spartans boys’ golf team traveled to Cove View on Wednesday to compete in a Region 15 golf tournament. Grand walked away from the tournament triumphant with a score of 312, with Richfield, Manti and Emery following behind with scores of 317, 337 and 350, respectively.
Coach Kevin Reynolds remarked that the team improved by 10 strokes this week and that players Oakley Toomer and Shaidyn Killpack both played to their strengths. Individual scores were Toomer with 75, Killpack with 83, Taylor Lindsey with 94, Logan Healey, 98, Devan Guymon, 107, and Kavery Killpack, 111.
The boys will next travel to San Juan for a tournament that is slated to take place on Aug. 23 beginning at 11 a.m.
