Emery High FFA Scores Well in Practice Competition

Emery High FFA

Emery High students are getting ready for state FFA Career Development Events. They have teams in horse evaluation, livestock evaluation, food science, agriculture mechanics, dairy foods and veterinary science. State contests are April 21- and 22 in Logan.

The group competed Wednesday at a practice event in Tooele. Emery’s food science team comprised of Aubreyona Migliori, Courtney Lindsey, Tyler Brown and Britny Richards took third place while the dairy foods team with Nathan Urie, Logen Ewell, Allie Sitterud and Chantell Erickson took fourth.

On March 13, the group also had the following students receive their State FFA Degree: Brooklin Ewell, Taylor Ewell, Hanna Nielsen, Lacy McElprang, Kaylee Swasey and Cydnee Jensen.

Ty Gordon was a chapter and area winner for the Star Greenhand Award based on his Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE). For Ty’s project, he raises beef cattle as well as market goats.
