Emery High School Honors Seniors at Awards Night

The graduating class of 2016 at Emery High School received $1,046,792 in scholarships. Last week. Ashley Jensen from the counseling department of Emery High introduced several guests who had scholarships to present to many of the graduating class.

United Way of Eastern Utah presented $600 scholarships to four students including Jacie Huntington, Jessica Mason, Jessica Olsen and Lizzy Sprague. Intermountain Power Project awarded Olsen a $1,000 scholarship. Price Kiwanis Club awarded a technical field service oriented scholarship for $500 to Kacey Farnsworth and Aubree Rowley.

Jaxon Bradley, Camrey Johnson and Devin Wilson all received $100 scholarships from the Elks Lodge and Travis Fehlberg received $2,000.

Every year, Emery Telcom presents scholarships to one individual from each town in Emery County. This year’s recipients were Kaitlyn Thompson, Mason, Danielle Johansen, Teslynn Gabbitas, Kara Higbee and Jed Kofford. San Rafael Conservation District scholarships went to Nathan Urie in the amount of $750 as well as McKoy Christiansen, Farnsworth, Makayla Jensen and Collette McElprang for $500. The Emery Scholarship Fund, totaling $1,000, was awarded to Jazmyn Sacco-Stoddard.

The Darrell Gardner Memorial Fund Scholarship was awarded to Bradley in the amount of $1,000 while Braydon Roberts received $4,000 from Johansen and Tuttle Engineering. Singelton-Seely Scholarships went to Johnson and Sacco-Stoddard in the amount of $500 each.

The Money Smart Spartan Scholarship in the amount of $500 was given to Farnsworth. A drawing was held for $100 in the CTE Pathway Completer and the winners were Justin Jennings, Kofford and Taylor Wilstead. Phil Roundy from Spencer’s Wishes Foundation presented two, $1,000 scholarships, one in softball and one baseball. Recipients were Huntington and Bryce Dugmore.
