A shutout against South Sevier added another win to the Spartans’ streak on Tuesday. The win marks four straight region for Emery within the last two weeks.

The Spartans came out hot in the first, putting in four goals before the break. Emery’s defense also held strong, keeping the visiting team from scoring to go into the break with a 4-0 lead.

The second half slowed a bit for the Spartans as they managed one more for the board. South Sevier’s woes against Emery’s defense continued as the Spartans ended the game with a shutout win.

Alexis Winter dominated throughout the game as she led the Spartans with three goals. Addy Healy and Morgan Hurdsman both contributed one apiece to the win.

Mileena McElvaney protected the net for Emery to earn the shutout.

Emery will face a tough contest on Tuesday as the team host Region 15 leader Manti. The Templars are undefeated in region play, earning them a spot just above Emery in the standings. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. in Castle Dale.
