The Lady Spartans traveled to Roosevelt on Tuesday to go up against the Union Cougars.

Emery found themselves with a nine-point lead, 23-14, after the first quarter and never looked back. Union was still within striking distance after halftime, down 43-31, but the Lady Spartans continued their domination in the second half to complete the victory, 74-45.

“It’s a good win. Anytime you can go to their place and come out on top by 29 points, you’ve done well,” said head coach Lynn Tuttle. “There’s just a few areas we need to improve in, [but] we’re doing more good things than bad.”

Meagan Jensen and Kacelyn Toomer led Emery again with 17 points apiece. The latter also had five blocks, bumping up her season average to just over three per game. Kinlee Toomer was one point away from a double-double as she finished with 10 rebounds while Ambree Bennett added 13 points as the Lady Spartans improved to a perfect 3-0 on the year.

Emery will next face Springville on Thursday at home in the Spartan Center at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ETV Channel 10 or online by clicking here.
