Local members of FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) have the opportunity to compete at the upcoming Utah Region Three conference. It will take place on Feb. 8 at the Brigham Young University Conference Center. Mont Harmon Middle, Helper Middle, Carbon High, Canyon View Middle, San Rafael Middle, Pinnacle, Emery High, Lighthouse High and Green River High have FCCLA chapters that can compete.

FCCLA members throughout the country are encouraged to participate in S.T.A.R. (Students Taking Action with Recognition) events. Participants work on a project from one of the many categories and then create a presentation about it. There are regional, state and national competitions.

In addition to S.T.A.R. events, the club participates in activities and service projects. Members focus on helping the community and helping students become good leaders.

Students who want to get involved in FCCLA can talk to their school’s adviser for more information.
