Ferron City’s main Peach Days celebration kicked off early Saturday morning with a flag ceremony and tribute to 9/11.
Mayor JoAnn Behling welcomed the crowd and commented on the meaning of the flag and freedom to her. She also led The Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence.
American Legion Post #42 representatives presented the Posting of the Colors, a 21-Gun Salute and Taps.
Kent Peterson read the poem “That Ragged Old Flag”.
American Legion Auxiliary Unit 42 read the meaning of the Thirteen Folds of the Flag and presented a folding ceremony.
