The Emery Town Historical Preservation Committee is continuing its quest to raise enough funds to restore the “Old Yellow Church.”

During the summer, the committee is hosting “Flip and Fling” fundraisers each Wednesday evening. Committee members are flipping burgers and flinging horseshoes at the city park from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and asking for small donations. Entertainment is also provided at the pavilion.

Next week, the event will be on Thursday as part of the annual Emery Town Celebration hosted by the firemen. After that, three more evenings, including July 25, Aug. 1 and Aug. 8, will culminate this particular fundraiser for the summer.
