Forced Entry Burglary Reported at USU Eastern Baseball Field

Utah State University Eastern issued a code blue alert Thursday afternoon after a forced entry burglary occurred at the USU Eastern baseball field athletic offices.

According to an email sent to students and faculty, police were notified at 12 p.m. on Thursday of a forced-entry burglary at the field. The USU Eastern baseball team uses this field for practice and games.

Items stolen include laptops, bank checks, a shotgun, a radar gun, a DVR camera and several personal items.

USU Eastern Campus Police are seeking the public’s help to solve the break in. Anyone who has any information about this crime or sees any suspicious activity on or off campus is encouraged to report it by calling dispatch at (435) 637-0890. In case of an emergency, individuals are to dial 911.

The email also stated though it is never possible to eliminate your risk of becoming the target of a crime, please consider the following risk-reduction suggestions:

  • Keep belongings secured and doors locked.
  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Trust your instincts and call the police if you are concerned for your safety.
