Though the temperatures are dropping while winter steadily approaches, many graced Helper’s Main Street on Friday evening as the city celebrated First Friday once again for the month of November.

This month, the festivities were spotlighted to celebrate Dia de Los Muertos. The students of Pinnacle Canyon Academy showcased their art at Canvas Alchemy while those that dressed up were able to participate in a parade. There was even a costume contest hosted. Youngsters were also welcomed into Three Little Llamas to enjoy apple cider and make their own masks from the Disney film “Coco.”

Also taking place during this month’s event was a fundraiser that was hosted at the Helper Fire Department. This fundraiser featured delicious soup and bread bowls to keep attendees warm while they perused the other activities offered. Refreshments were also served and all funds raised will go toward purchasing winter jackets and radios as well as to offset cost of needed equipment at the fire department.

The final First Friday for the 2019 year will take place on Dec. 6 and will work in conjunction with the Utah’s Christmas Town celebrations.
