Golden Eagles Basketball Team Earns Two Wins on the Road

The USU Eastern men’s basketball team competed in back-to-back away games on Friday and Saturday. The team first took on Central Wyoming College before challenging Little Big Horn College.

On Friday, the Golden Eagles secured a narrow win against CWC, 76-74. The Wyoming team gained the advantage in the first half, beating out USU Eastern 39-35. Solid shooting and multiple steals led the Eagles to turn around the game in the second half to earn the win. Andre Hogan led the team with 15 points followed by Josh Van Weezep with 14. Royale Enwing also helped the Eagles’ offense with 14 points off the bench.

The team then swept LBHC on Saturday, earning a 103-83 win. The Eagles started strong and maintained momentum throughout the game. At the half, USU Eastern led 55-41. Twelve steals throughout the game and 15 offensive rebounds added to the team’s standout performance. Van Weezep led the team with 18 points on the night followed by Hamdi Karoui with 13.

The team will resume play at home on Friday and Saturday against Impact Academy. Tip off on Friday is scheduled for 5 p.m. while Saturday’s game will start at 3 p.m.
