During the Green River City Council meeting on Tuesday, Adriana Chimaras, the new Travel, Tourism and Museum Director for Emery County, spoke on the upcoming plans for Green River. Chimaras began her work as director in February and stated that the travel council’s goal is to get more non-motorized tourists to the area by creating more trails.

In the past months that Chimaras has been in the position, the branding for Emery County has been completed, including the launch of The Swell Utah’s website. It is now a live website and includes information on local attractions, businesses, hotels and more.

Another focus for the travel council is international marketing strategies that will be implemented in the near future. It has been approved for an international magazine to write four different articles for the county. The magazines are distributed in major cities such New York, Paris and some parts of Eastern Europe. They will be published in three different languages. Green River will be on the cover of one edition and will be the focus of that particular article.

Chimaras went on to say that there are great opportunities coming with the travel bureau. Those with any questions may contact Chimaras  at travel@emery.utah.gov.
